Our Vision
Our Vision for the PMS Family
Our vision for the PMS Family is that there is a strong culture of learning for all, in which we are all engaged in the local, national and global landscape, each making our contribution through thoughtful, small steps on a daily basis.
Everyone is confident and articulate, both orally and through writing. Everyone has an appreciation of the importance of reading and mathematics, which feeds into our love of learning; additionally, we all show character, tolerance and an understanding of others in the PMS family, as well as all other citizens around us – both near and far.
We are aware and active regarding how we can contribute to the global goals as well as demonstrate the British Values. As lifelong learners, we are aware of how to stay healthy- both physically and mentally. We are resilient to cope with the challenges of the ever changing world that we live in, and in preparation for the world of work.
Diversity and inclusion are both promoted and celebrated by everyone here, alongside a strong ethos of safeguarding, not only for the children but also for the whole school community.
Our learning approach is shaped by the philosophy of John Hatties’ Visible Learning and our approach to dealing with behaviour aims to be consistent and restorative, based on the work of Paul Dix. Our ‘Curriculum Intent’ encapsulates what we aim to achieve through a clear curriculum map, well sequenced lessons, assemblies, extra- curricular clubs and activities.
Our vision is that both children and staff are happy and enthused about learning here at PMS, and consequently great learning takes place.
