Penkridge Middle School is a great school and I am delighted to welcome you to our website.
Being part of the ‘Penk Valley Academy Trust’ of schools since 2018, we take pupils from the four local First Schools as well as other pupils from out of catchment at the start of Year 5 and also into Y7, with our pupils feeding into Wolgarston High School or The Rural Enterprise Academy (TREA) who recently joined the Trust, at the end of Year 8.
Having worked as part of the Senior Leadership Team of the school for over 15 years, I was appointed to the post of Headteacher in February 2017 and I am working extremely hard to lead both our teaching and support staff to ensure that the school continually strives to raise standards of learning, whilst maintaining a very safe and supportive environment for all of our pupils.
Our most recent Ofsted (March 2017), graded the school as ‘Good’ overall and as ‘Outstanding’ for pupils’ personal development and welfare.
Our Leadership Team consists of myself, Deputy Headteacher Mr Grocutt and Assistant Headteachers Mr Meredith and Mr Cole. We are supported by our Office Manager Mrs Blakeway, as well as our Extended Leadership Team.
The children benefit from Subject Specialist facilities and a mixture of Primary and Specialist Teachers, but are also supported by their ‘Class Teacher’ who they spend time with at the start and end of each day to help develop their pastoral and positive learner skills, as well as to develop a love of reading through rich texts.
Diversity and inclusion are both promoted and celebrated at our school and our vision and values are underpinned by British Values, Global Goals and also the Safeguarding, not only of our children, but for the whole school community.
Teaching and learning, developed through Visible Learning and the development of Oracy skills, are at the heart of what we do well and we also promote success through a broad and balanced curriculum, including many extra-curricular clubs, school trips and themed days.
Please take the time to have a look around our website and if you are interested in your child attending our school then please contact the school office on 01785 413400 to see if we have places available.
